In The End, What I Get?

I still remembered the first time I bought my very own hand phone @ handset @ mobile phone. It was 2002, when I was in form 2. During that time, handset is still a new technology and not all students had their own. Even my parents bought their handset in 2001.

In order to have 1, my brother and I saved some of our duit makan that ayah give everyday. He only gave us RM2 (but the amount keep increasing directly proportional to our age) daily for us to buy food or to buy snack (only food is allowed by my ayah). So, we secretly ikat perut and saved the money to buy a handset.

I shared money with my older brother to buy the phone line. I bought maxis, and I still remembered the price, RM80! We had to wait for about half a year to do so because it was difficult to save money you know (always wanted to buy something else). But the number is beautiful, 012-6060650 (lost already this number 4 years ago). I bought a second hand handset from my friend, 3310 for RM150 (kalau tak silap la). To have a handset is like to have a masterpiece (jakun la kate kan) at that time. Yela, I bought it myself, with my own money, with my own effort, with my own everything! (my parents had NEVER gave even RM1 to me to buy the phone or for the topup)

At first, there were only 10 numbers in it (most of it is numbers of my friends’ house).
At the end of the year, I managed to get some of my friends’ hp number. So, during the school break, with nothing to do, I started to be like a Peaceful Destroyer. I miscalled every number in my contacts list, every minute. And yes, there were response from the victims. We had a ‘miscall fighting’, tried to miscalled the opponent’s number, and tried to be the one who was able to answer the ‘miscall’ (I’m always the winner).

I spent about RM30 a month for topup because of SMS. Though it was fun to be able to chat with our friends, I suffered a little (doesn’t eat anything during school). And after my parents know about the handset (I was able to hide it for only 2 months), they warned me that I had to topup myself. So, because of that (because I bought my own handset), up till now, I topup on my own (very envy with those who their parents topup for them).

*****

I bought by second handset 3 years later, after Hari Raya Puasa (not a second hand handset anymore). With the ‘duit raya’ I got, I bought a more sophisticated and advance handset, K300i. It has camera on it, and more importantly, I’m the first in my family to have 1. So, with the camera, I begun my ‘cameraman’ profession and capturing any scene that I thought was nice. But, with nowhere to transfer all the pictures (the handset has no MC, so the memory is only 13MB), I had to delete it.

Now, I’m using K770i (after years of experience, I think Sony is better than Nokia), and I bought it again, with my own money. So, who’s out there thought that their parents are mean cause they do not buying a handset for you, just remember me. It was hard for me at first but later on, I learnt something. We can’t always depend on our parents for everything. With that moto, I was able to be an independent boy. Everything I bought on my own, from handset to games, from comics to magazines, from shoes to jeans, I bought it with my savings. Hell yeah. If you don’t believe me, just ask my brother and my sister. We all buy our stuff on our own.

Peace =]
P/S: Umi and Ayah, I’m not saying that you had never bought us anything or being mean to us, but the way you treated us is right. I’m proud of both of you. I’ve learn that money is not easy to get and we will appreciate more if we put our own effort in it. Thanks for that.

What A Waste

Actually, I’m scared to write something in English. There are a lot of things in my mind saying that ‘don’t write!’, ‘people will laughed at your work!’ and so on, which eventually affected me mentally.

My umi had sent me for English class since I was in KINDERGARDEN! All this stopped when I was 16, because I entered hostel. 10 years of English classes does not help at all (people said I’m just wasting my umi’s money). Sure it does help but not as much as expected. My English still sucks although I’m now in university (CFS je kot). If there is ranking for English level among the exempted students, maybe I’ll be somewhere at the bottom. I’m writing based on how the sentences sound like. I assumed that the sentence is correct if it doesn’t sound funny (ikut mazhab mane pun tak tau la).

When I tried to remember back, I finally found what the biggest problem is. I DON”T READ BOOKS!!! That’s what I’m lacking of. There are lots of English books for me to read but what can I do. My laziness is the champion. During my school time, reading is boring. I don’t like lying on the bed or sitting on the desk to read books. I prefer to go for sports, watching cartoons or playing computer games. It's more fun that way.

To be able to read long books needs courage and determination. I don’t like reading something that is too difficult to understand, something that needs you to open up the dictionary to find the exact meaning (teruk ek). That’s why my vocab is low. Buy an electronic dictionary? Not in my to-do-list because I don’t have that much of money (I have to buy most of my things myself, because my parents are not that rich).

I feel guilty to my umi. She had spent thousands of Ringgit (10 years of English classes and every month, she paid about RM 40) in order for me to be good in English. I’m sorry umi.

But past is a past. Now, I have started to read some long books (one of it is Biology 8th Edition, so looonngg!!!) and have the confident to publish my writing for you all to read. I know some of you will laugh at my post (what the hell is he writing) but this is what we called ‘learning processes. We will not stop learning till we die.

The Climb

I came across with this song when I was surfing the internet. The lyric is so wonderful. No wonder there are a lots of comments, saying that this is the best song ever. I put this lyrics for you guys to judge(try to feel the spirit in the song). As for me, I would say that this song is quite interesting coz its different from the other song (most songs today are about love...how boring).

The lyric is so well made that it hits almost 60 millions viewers in Youtube
(I couldn't believe myself coz i had never heard this song before).

The Climb lyrics
Miley Cyrus

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

p/s: those who want to hear it, I have put a link on this post's title.
(internet lembab..x leh nak upload..huhuhuh)

It starts with....

Firstly, thanks to all of you coz spending your time to read my blog. I’m just getting started with this ‘blogging’ thing actually. Being a blogger is hard for the truth. I had 2 read books, papers, magazines and other source of materials to gain some ideas for me to write. Grammar is another thing to be watched out. As we write, we assume that what we write is correct, without any mistake. It is so hard man! If you find any mistakes in my writing, please do tell me so.

Well, as this is my first post, I won’t be writing so much (to save some ideas actually). Oh, before I forget, those who as idea to share with me, just hint me or tell me your opinion or whatever you have been thinking of so that we can share it together.

Peace... =]

For the icebreaking...

My photo
nothing to be impressed with me coz i'm just not extraordinary...
